BIG JIM WOOD
Alias Jim Townsend stage name you know what these thespians are like, I did say thespians didn't I. Lanchestrian decent, fathers side I believe, but very much a midland lad now. Was a member of a well known oompah band from the midlands called THE FRANKFERTER SHUNKLERS, Jim also runs a highly successful jazz band called, THE ADAMANT NEWORLEONS BRASS BAND, PLUS he is secretary of the Birmingham Variety of Equity branch, a very busy lad if I may say, anyway a very fine TUBBA Player, great to have him on board.

Another tuba player I use occasionally if I need to extend the band to a 4 piece etc, hails from the Erdington area of Birmingham, but now lives with his fiancé down in Swindon, as this was where his job took him, but this does not stop him from wanting to come along and join in the fun, again a very good player, love his rendition of The Teddy bears picnic.

A teacher from Sutton Coldfield in Birmingham, Alan is the latest addition to our band taking over from Eugene. He is a very good jazz player, and can pick up tunes in a flash.
